Hotel Management Course

By the end of this course, the student should be able to

1. learn how to be a successful professional hotel manager,

2. recruit a successful professional hotel team,

3. develop the productive skills of their hotel team, 

4. understand how to develop hotel staff efficiently, and 

5. set and achieve the successful marketing targets of a hotel.

This course has five modules, divided into lessons. It also has activities in between lessons and an assessment at the end of each lesson. 

Module 1 will introduce the student to the functions of a hotel manager. 

Module 2 will provide the student with information on how to effectively recruit a hotel team. 

Module 3 will help the student develop the skills of their hotel team. 

Module 4 will teach the student how to demonstrate the right behavior as a hotel manager. 

Module 5 will help the student set and achieve marketing targets.

By the end of this course, the learner should be able to: 

1. Successfully introduce the learner on how to be a professional hotel manager. 

2. Successfully recruit a professional hotel team. 

3. Effectively develop the skills of your organisation

4. Understand how to build staff efficiently. 

5. Successfully set and achieve hotel targets. 

6. Provide essential tools and processes to enable you to manage effectively. 

Module 1

This module has one lesson, which is an introduction to hotel management. This lesson introduces the learner to the functions of a hotel manager. At the end of this module, the learner should be a professional hotel manager. 

Module 2

This module also has two lessons, which are 1. recruitment principles, 2. recruitment key points. The first lesson will give principles that will guide you in the recruitment of a professional hotel team. The second lesson will highlight the key points to follow when recruiting the hotel team. At the end of this module, the learner should be able to hire a professional sales team successfully. 

Module 3

Module three has three lessons, which include 1. coaching, 2. managing staff retention and turn over, 3. people skills and development. The first lesson exposes the learner to coaching as a way of developing his or her hotel team. The second lesson deals with how to manage staff retention and turn over. The third lesson deals with developing other people to become managers. At the end of this module, the learner should be able to develop the skills of his or her hotel team effectively. 

Module 4

Module four has four lessons, which include; behaviors, motivation, communicating the plan, and work cross-functionality. The first lesson deals with how to behave in a manner that befits a hotel manager. The second lesson talks about the various approaches that can be used in motivating employees. The third lesson deals with creating and communicating a plan with your hotel team. The last lesson of this module deals with how to work in harmony with other departments in the company. At the end of this module, the learner should be able to understand how to develop staff efficiently. 

Module 5

The fifth module also has four lessons, which are 1. business acumen, 2. using hotel measurements to hit targets, 3. planning, and targeting, 4. managing time inhibitors. The first lesson deals with how to understand your business and your customers. The second lesson deals with how to use hotel measurements to hit targets. The third lesson deals with planning and targeting in hotel management. The last lesson of this module deals with how to manage time inhibitors. At the end of the module, the learner should be able to set and achieve hotel targets successfully.
