The cross cultural awareness and understanding course has three lessons and eleven topics. The main topics that are covered in the course include; All about culture, cross cultural checklist, what others need to know about us, what is wrong with stereotypes, values at work, observing body language, recognizing and managing culture shock, being aware of the red flag, cross cultural communication, using your radar and cross cultural effectiveness. The main goal of the course is to help the learner to be able effectively communicate what culture is, provide information on the cultural challenges that we may face at work and effectively communicate across different cultures.
The course is all about how you can easily interact and communicate with people from different cultures. Culture is a very crucial is a very important aspect in our daily activities. The contemporary society has diverse cultures which need be appreciated. To be able to survive in the contemporary society, you need to understand different aspects that characterize different cultures. There are some actions and behaviors which are right among people of a certain group but they are actually wrong among people of a different group. What is ethically and culturally right in among a certain group of people may be wrong elsewhere.
