The emotional intelligence course has three lessons, which are divided into ten topics. The lessons of the course include; introduction to emotional intelligence, importance of emotional intelligence and developing emotional intelligence. The first lesson, introduction, has three topics which introduce you to the definitions, aspects and domains of emotional intelligence. After you are introduced to emotional intelligence, as a concept, the course will further expose you to the importance of emotional intelligence at the work place, how to consider the different global cultures to broaden your spectrum on emotional intelligence and also help you to recognise the needs of others at the work place. Furthermore, the course will help you identify the traits portrayed by people with low personal confidence and people with high levels of emotional intelligence. Finally, the course will help you learn the methods of improving your level of emotional intelligence. It is expected that by the end of this course, you should be able to successfully recognise emotional states and their causes, successfully manage emotional impulses so as to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and effectively utilise emotional intelligence to improve performance at the work place.
